Not to argue a stupid point, but the bearings are different between the two(HTT and BD) the high techs are a little better. But yeah I agree for the money its hard to beat a S300. The SS housing is a nice addition as well! Ok I know Im beating the HTT drum, so I will kindly STFU.

you are correct about the bearings when mine was apart i had the better ones put in , i ment from a performance stand point . and when your happy with a product its ok to beat the drum , i do as well :D

My GM dealer yesterday informed me that C gaskets have been substituted with Bs AND they are not readily available. I pulled out one A and one B and will find out today how much they had to take off each head. I've now decided to measure piston extrusion.

More info on cylinder distortion with studs is requested. Thanks all.

My machinist said to use the same gaskets I pulled out and this makes sense; the head isn't getting any closer to the pistons, it is flat.

GM has FINALLY got my head gaskets and I'll pick them up tomorrow. Must have been a hot ticket, they had bring them in from a US dealer. My heads are surfaced with fresh valve seals and a second pressure test after reinstalling the injector sleeves. I'll get the ARP studs shortly, I'm not going to scrimp a few hundred bucks if there is a chance they will prolong head gaskets down the road.

The motor is back together but the spare is working sweet with 20,000 km on it since. I haven't found a good enough deal on a turbo upgrade so I'm not going to swap it back in for now. I really enjoyed the project.
