(just find a google image, unless you have an actual pic...

1983 Cadillac DeVille parents bought it new (think the grandparents helped lol) I remember this car very well, but my parents said they traded it in in 1985 when I was 4 (must have been a car to remember) :spit:They said we got another one, but it was a yellowish color...

My mom bought this new in 1952. It is a picture I dug up as well but hers was identical.

closest thing i could find to my dads old truck. Yeah im a youngin to some of ya but i remember my dad trading in his 90 chevy 2500 ex/sb 454 for this brand new 93 chevy ex/lb 2wd 6.5 diesel. I was all of 6 or 7 at the time and he picked it up at Lou Grubb Chevy. Was tan in color had a "cool second radio" or so i thought at the time about teh equalizer lol. he used that truck to pull all our travel trailers on up to the 35ft alfa we had. had 240K on it by then and he decided it was time for a new truck. We kept it and i wound up learin how to drive in it, talk about a bitch tryin to 3 point turn that freakin thing for my drivers test. made it first try though!

OK. I looked, but did not find a picture even on the internet.

Fist car I Remember was an early 1970's chevrolet station wagon (green). 2nd car was an 1979 Oldsmobile Delta 88 with the 5.7l Diesel. The car was "loaded" for its time. Power door locks, power windows, front map light, rear reading lights, power front seat (full bench still) premium vinyl seats, there were 2 lights above the rear seat that let you know that the rear brake lights and blinkers were working, and on the corner of the fenders, there were 3 fiber optic displays that let you know what front lights were on and working or not.

First Diesel I drove back in 1988.

My Bio-dad had a thing for Subaru station wagons since they where 4WD with manuals specifically he had a Black Diamond. It looked like this but had a push bar up front factory it was a limited run deal. Mom had a Toyoda Tecell Station wagon too. Onther then those we had a wide range of 1/2 to 1 ton trucks mostly GMs a few fords and SUVs too.

First car that I remember was a 1962 Olds Starfire Coupe that my parents bought new just before they found out I was on the way. :) One of my earliest memories is standing in the back seat looking out the back window. It was white with red interior.

My Dad had three VWs in the 60s, first one was a 1960. It was black with a white interior. I still remember that distinctive VW exhaust note to this day.
My brothers and I would fight about "who gets to sit in the boot" which is what we called the little cubbie space behind the rear seat. Man, I must've been about 5 or 6.

What with having 4 kids from 1963-1967, the Starfire just wouldnt do, so we got a 1966 Olds Cutlass station wagon. It was dark green with a green interior. We had these stainless steel "wings" on the sides of the rear window that were supposed to keep crud off it. Sort of like the "SeeII" wings you see on school busses now.
I personally would LOVE to find one of these cars to restore now. I loved that wagon.

My two sisters came along in '70 and '71, and the Olds got us wherever we needed to go, but by 1974 she had just about given up the ghost. So my parents went to Bee's Chevy and came home with a mustard and white-colored Beauville van, which we owned until about 1985. I learned to drive in that van, including pulling the travel trailer up north the summer after I got my license (and I STILL cant decently back a trailer up to save my ass!)

And thats the history of Bacon family automobiles.

Here's the first one I remember
86caravan.jpg

I know my mom owned a MG before that and my dad a POS blue delta 88 that he called the "roach mobile". The floor boards were rotted out and the bugs liked to get in.

The ones I remember,
Had and s10 pickup my mom bough brand new back in 82.
Then They bought the S10 blazer in the 90s, I guess they liked s10's

Then they bought that gem of a van and blew the trans out of it in like a month.

And my dad up in WA had that old ford pickup, repainted it himself and he had a shell on it like that too. :D

WOW my grandparents had that car's twin. The one they had was a 4-6-8. Something failed on it stranding me in BFE at 6 am in the morning. First only time I rode with a stranger to get a ride back to town to call a tow truck:eek:

I think just after that they traded it in.

My dad had this truck only in silver.

The '72 Jimmy same color as this old wreck was the first truck I remember Dad having before he sold it and bought a more fuel efficient Ford Courier.

The car was mom's. '79 Oldsmobile 98 Regency with the 403. Many a family trip from the time the car was new until Dad sold it in 2003 for $600. Over 300 000 miles on it and it never ever even had the valve covers off!! They don't make them like that anymore!
