I had a friend call me, he has an 06 LBZ with over 100,000 miles so no warranty, He's getting the p0089, I don't know if he's anymore codes or not, I don't think he is, He replaced the CP3, the fpr an put on a lift pump, an still getting the code,
Is there anything else I can tell him to look for, just thought I would ask I don't really know alot about the newer duramax's, but I would like to help him out.

Thanks

We're going to shim it tomorrow, I've noticed it's happening more so on higher mileage engines, I was wondering beings the problem I've just went through, if the orifices could have so build up on them, On a lb7 the orifices are after the fprv, on the lbz they are before, HMMM, just thinking out loud. I'll keep you guys posted. thanks for your responses

Im betting its just asimple frpv that needs some TLC, second guess would be a cp3, buts thats nowhere near as likely as the frpv

Mine only happened with a high HP tune. The shim was in and still thru the code. The shim(spring) IMO only last so long before it gets weak. Put a PPE race valve in it and be done.

looking for help I have been hit now with the P0087 code " low fuel pressure" it hit twice while pulling a slight grade, once with and empty tank and once with a 3/4 tank. The other time it hit was when i was really putting my foot into. I have a stock 2005. I did just replaced the FPR for an idle surge. I also blow a lot of black smoke when i put my foot into as well dont know if this is another symptom.
