alright after going through all the hell of installing my new toys off of the wrecked truck im still struggling to get her running... turns out the bd turbo seized up gonna get that fixed... anyways i ended up with a aurora 5000 from ats well basing my installl with the bd i went and installed the oil feed first and pulled the ing fuse to pump oil through the line well where i have it installed is where bd recommended with their turbo ( bigger feed line diameter less pressue) so i got online and looked up ats install and doesn't clearly say where to install just says oil line and has a picture of the stock port in the middle of the block? is this correct? do i just use the supplied fitting and slaap her toegether... but also instructions say something about using the stock banjo bolt and crush washers????? where would you need to install those if you just put the fitting and line in that port??? any help would be appreciated ......

alright man thats a lot of jibberish. simplify it for me. the stock oil feed is a port in the middle of the valley right under the turbo. the BD feed comes from the side IIRC. Which feed do you want to use? And state what you need help with too :D

Just use the BD style oil feed line. It is supposed to be better anyways. You should have a 14mm fitting that goes in the block by the oil filter and some lengths of hose along with a check valve (that doesnt work worth shiot). Put it all together and plumb the oil up that way.

Put a plug in the valley hole.

And I think you said you were worried about using the bigger feed line because of less pressure...? Look in the BD turbo oil inlet or the A5K oil inlet, or any of the oil inlets on the turbo's and you'll see that there is some small drilled ports. I don't think it matters what kind of line you hook to it, its going to have similar pressure in the end because it has to pass through those ports.

Also, once a line is filled with oil, if its getting pressure from the oil pump in the motor its going to have the same amount of pressure whether you get it from the cam journals or elsewhere, as long as its on the pressure circuit somewhere. I'd say its even debatable that the BD style oil feed get better pressure because of is fairly free flowing location in the system versus having to have the oil come through the cam bearings first.

Title the thread so folk can see what it's about. "ATS Turbo Install, HELP!!"

BD early kits feed oil from the valley in the stock location from the cam. Late kits use long feed from the driver's side rear near oil filter.

ATS last I checked, feeds from valley.

Factory connectors are banjo ends, with copper gaskets.

thanks guys thats what i thought also when i pull the ignition fuse i thought it was supposed to kick oil up through that line when cranking over but no oil coming out... i checked for blockage in hose its clear also checked the oil fluid level and appears to be fine... so im not sure what is going on im going to swap the feed so that it feeds from the valley rather than the plug in the side of the block thanks again... sorry im not sure how to changhe the title lol

I had to crank it quite a bit before oil started coming up there. I'm going to say i cranked for one minute straight before oil came up from that lower oil feed location. I was cranking for maybe 5 seconds at a time, then rest for 5.

Gotta remember you've got 3 feet of -6 hose to fill.

Adapter?

You've got the BD install kit?

If I recall right, you should have a fitting for the plug that is 21-22mm bolt head size... I think its a 14mm fitting. Its a straight thread fitting that goes in the block, you'll need the sealing or crush washer with this. Maybe even want to teflon tape it... mine leaks a wee bit. Then there should be a pipe thread to AN fitting that threads onto that. Then the hose, check valve, and second hose. Then you'll have to figure out how to plumb into the top of the turbo. For my HTT I used a 2" pipe thread riser out the top of the turbo and then a 45° pipe thread to AN fitting and the hose hooks up there.

The BD kit has a 12mm straight thread plug for the OG valley oil feed hole.

Doing it my way was easier than trying to gypsy rig up some method of using the stock banjo bolts and whatever.

Just hang the one end of the hose into a bottle and crank until it splooges some into the bottle. Then hook er up. Don't forget to top up the turbo with oil before you hook up the oil line too just to make sure it doesn't start dry!

And I recall cranking for quite some time. I cranked for awhile before it even wanted to start (because I just finished the head gaskets), and then it took probably another minute of cranking to get oil up that line.
