Holy ****. I did a better job than that when I was 20 on my truck in the yard. I'd at least call the guy and tell him what a sorry bastard he is if nothing else.

Lift pump is a good add on anyhow imo.

The guy is 770JOHNNYW a member of this forum. It is my fault for trusting someone to do good work just because he said that he is good and could do it for a lower price and quick. And it was done in his garage where he also sprays paint on your vehicle while working on it, free of charge. I could go on and on about the work done/not done to my truck by him but you would have to pm me.

You run into problems like this at dealer ships also. Some people that are ase certified are dumb too. That's exactly why I won't let anyone touch my truck unless I'm standing there watching.

Update

The truck made it home from Georgia to North Dakota to Arizona and it ran fine, except for the oil leak from the upper pan. I think that I also have a small water leak in the turbo area. I will check it out this weekend while I am at home. Fuel mileage was between 12.8 to 19.1 on the DIC towing my Aluma 18 trailer empty and full. The AirRaid is coming off as soon as I find a suitable replacement intake.
On another note, has anyone installed their lift pump on the crossmember just in front of the fuel tank? That is where mine was installed and it is sitting the lowest and will surely hit while off roading, so I want to move it to the frame rail if they left me enough hose to do so.

They installed it where the coolers were on the older ones? Not a good place for one, the frame is best for sure if your going to be on back roads. I'd be afraid of a rock hitting the filters and puncturing one

It looks like I will need to build a small skid plate to protect it from flying rocks, road debris and low break over clearance. They did the exact same install as the one on ThoroughBred Diesel did on YouTube. I see that it has already blown the small fuse that is plugged into the under hood fuse block. It was just a 10a fuse that was put in the gin start location, so I am thinking about changing it to a 20a fuse.

Mine definitely hangs down as the lowest part of my truck - except for the axles. Being tied into the ign fuse that are both needing juice at the moment of start could be my problem. I might just look for another switched fuse location to draw power from.

That's just a trigger wire for the solenoid coming off the ignition fuse, it draws very little.

I guess that I am another person with leaky valve covers after a head gasket job was done to the engine. Mine are leaking a quart a day. You would figure that the freakin' mechanic would have found that out after a test drive.

Sounds like an even worse hack job than you initially thought. Sorry you have to go thru this.

People make mistakes and miss things, it happens, and I try to be understanding of that, but that's a lot of half assing and straight neglect. I'd like to see his parts list to see what he charged you for and didn't change.

Have you called this guy and told him about your findings?
