Our 2005 Chevy 2500HD throwing codes P2563 and P0046. Have been chasing this problem for a year. Nobody willing to get to bottom of it around our area. New to this site, can anyone give us ideas to solve? Thanks.

Either the vanes are stuck or the vane actuator solenoid is bad, or the vane position sensor is bad....or a combination of all three. I would pull the turbo and take it apart and clean it all up. If it still throws the codes I would replace the vane actuator solenoid. If you have an edge CTS or an more expensive scan tool you can watch the vane position in real time if you push it with your finger.

Mike Diesel, thanks for the info. Do you think the vane/solenoid/sensor trouble could affect the transmission? It went into safe mode a couple weeks ago, limped in, shut it off and turned it back on and it had reset. Had the transmission looked at, there was no trouble found. I'm wondering if it could all fit together?
