Help with suspension setup!

Truck has a slight rake from back to front. Had bilstien 5100 on all 4's and launched constant 1.62's. Built motor and had to upgrade in slicks. Now I have 390's and spinning all fours. So I bought rancho 9000's for the front and it got worse! The front comes up 3-3.5 inches now and 60 has gone to 1.78-1.80! What has happened! I have caltracs and just bought 9000 for the rear. Do the ranchos have to be level to work? The shackles in the rear will level the truck if I have to. Has someone ran into this problem before?

Rancho 9000s dont offer adjustability to reduce lifting, its only the dampening side.

Need a shock like a QA1 to adjust both sides of the shock.

Might try a limit strap in the front to keep it from lifting.

I noticed the same thing with my 9000's. I had old yellow bilsteins and was getting 1.8 60's and last night with the 9000's and spring clamps best I could do was 1.9. I'm pretty dissapointed with that but the DD ride is way better.

The ride was nice but was more concerned about my 60ft! The bilstien is a better shock up front! Damn should not of sold them!! I guess I'll buy some 10k straps and bolt them up front.

I have Ranchos on my truck, and I have no problem getting low 1.7s with my heavy 20" wheels/tires. I could get into the mid to high 1.6s with my PYOs and 265 all terrain tires. What are you setting the Ranchos to?

Check your motor mts. I was cutting low 1.6's and chased my tail for a long time cutting high 1.7's. Repaired the mts, and right back into the low 1.6's! Pretty funny when you know your truck well enough to know something's wrong, just because your off by .1-.2

My personal opinion here(flame suit on) rancho 9000 are a lesser caliber product. Ajdustability of garbage is.... you get it. Bilstiens have better valving, im pretty sure bilstiens have bigger piston and larger dia piston body(talkin all internal components, and all are superior to rancho. Promise) if you wanna go big, you have to go big. Rancho is big name, small game. Btw, guys, imo you probably dont want to run the same setting front and rear. Look into it. You can have some shocks custom/purpose built, that would be big. Then you can really have a fully tunable shock, or just a have a shock built to your specs that provides a balance, that is not adjustable. I think a purpose built custom non adjustable remote reservoir shock from fox or bilstien or king would be a solid option. Idk tho, you all can keep tryin off the shelf suspension stuff and expect custom results, im doin the same chit, tryin to find the magic mix of aftermarket goodies that help you hook(not in a skirt on the corner) dont expect much from those rancho's tho, but if you wanna give them a good shot- try 9 in the back and maybe all the way to 3 in the front. Just give it a go somewhere and see if it feels better. My guess is it will. This would be a setting that would ONLY be drivable in a straight line, cornerin characteristics would be really bad set like this on a custom shock, rancho's you may be able to get away with runnin on the street like that but woul prob be best somethin like 4 or 5 in front and 6 or 7 in the rear, respectively
