I have been working on putting a lbz into a 83 c10. Picked up engine out of a wrecked truck I'm finally at the point where most fab work is done. I took the stock injectors to a shop to have checked out and turns out they are no good.

I'm looking for advice on what to do for injector size the truck will be stock bottom end till funds are available. Will have a sdp twin over stocker for air.

Now do you guys think 100% are to much for being stock bottom end or could they be tamed down for now.

Truck will never tow or haul. Occasion drag strip and a quick ice cream getter.

Was it a reputable injector shop? Every injector I've ever sent out other than to exergy to have tested was bad. I feel most shops don't legitimately test them like they need to be.. Especially if said shop also sells injectors..

Oh and 100s are to much for stock engine. But people do it all the time lol.

100s might be a chore for your stock CP3 but a good tuner should be able to tame them down, it might take a few data log to get them dialed in though. All depends who's tuning. 45% or 60% would definitely be easier to tune and could be pushed to 1k+hp once you get ur bottom end built and have enough air.

Shop was pro performance in clearfield PA heard a lot of good things. The guy I spoke to took time and explained what was going on and took one apart. And he didn't even try to sell me anything.

I'm just trying to weigh my options getting them rebuilt to stock specs seems like a waste with future plans to add power.

That's good to hear. Disregard my first post then. Minus the part on 100s

Thanks for the input guys 60s will be what I'm looking for.
Now do you guys think a 10mm stroker or a stock pump will do.

I want to avoid duel fuelers do to fab reasons and clearance.

Injectors are on the back burner for now since they will be easy to install once engine is back in the truck but the cp3 would be a lot easier to take care of now. So let me know what route you guys that been there done it would take. Thanks for the help.

What is your hp goal? If you are looking to be able to utilize the 60% potential on a single CP3 I'd recommend a Exergy 12MM CP3. They support 1khp for sure. A single Exergy 10MM will support 750-800. I wouldn't recommend more than the 10MM if your still running stock bottom end. It will give plenty enough fuel for bending stock rods.

End goal is 1k but financial situation at the moment is holding back a bottom end build. I think I'm going to go with a stock lbz in the valley for now. When the time comes for more fuel I will have to up grade or go duals.

A 10mm exergy pump can support near 1000 hp. If you have the money to spend do the 12 mm pump. 500 bucks difference in cost. Injectors anywhere from 60 to 100 overs. With the fuel available from the stroker pump it would be easy to damage your stock motor. Especially when running compound turbos. Be very conservative with tuning and driving until you have the funds to build the engine. Pro formance Injections is a good company and honest people. They aren't as good as Exergy in my opinion but I do offer them to customers who are looking for nozzles instead of whole performance injectors..
