Last weekend I smoked something inside my Suncoast 1058 converter. Heard good things about Georend so have decided to go with them. Couldn’t get a hold of anyone Friday so wanted to get some opinions here.

Running Danville Stg2R over a S483 and 100 overs. Truck is daily driven.
Old Suncoast 1058 felt pretty tight. Hoping something a little looser will help with my puff of black smoke leaving lights.

Looking to order first thing Monday morning. Maybe Inglewood has some in stock? Most places say 5-8 business days or so…

Thanks

1058 is as loose as it gets and it doesn't couple worth a shit. Call Mark at Danville. Something may be goofy with your tune.

I just switched out my Suncoast triple 7 for a goerend R and I love it. I'm not a transmission guy but I think the R has the same stall as the 1058. I run a 68/480

Mark and I have tried a couple different revisions with my smoke issue leaving from a stop. Large injectors and fingers oval pistons are to blame I think. Once I get moving it’s fine. Mark has already pulled a ton of fuel out from down low. I’m also at 3,500-4,000’ above sea level.

Mike, what converter do you recommend? I will be calling the shop first thing Monday morning. Hopefully you have some converters in stock that you could ship out tomorrow?

1058 is only a 2100-2300 stall. My transmission guy said Suncoast converters are always a little on the tighter side… True?

Wanted to get a converter nailed down so I can order one first thing tomorrow morning.
Thanks

The georend converter is going to shit all the suncoast. You can just throw a K in and it’ll do everything better than that suncoast.

Words of wisdom from a man that knows. (y) If I was going to run a hot rod Duramax it would have a K in it. The K was built for Anthony (gmduramax), Dustin at ATP, and Verlon Southwick at ATP. Dave Goerend and I didn't know how kick ass this converter would be.
