HELP! What tunes do I have...

I got a junkyard engine with computer. I read the base tune file to see it was unlocked and had a DSP5 tune on it already. Could someone help me figure out what tunes might be on it?

The motor is an LLY, I could email or pm the script if it makes it easier. Thanks!

No way to tell....best thing to do is flash a stock tune in there and start from scratch. It's also the safest.

Ahh, I figured someone would be able to give me a rough idea based on the boost and amount of fuel injected. Was hoping to save some money... but I guess replacing motors isn't cheap either.

I ran your script on a base dsp5 I had for a buddies truck, and #5 is a very big tune. 3220us / 34* timing.

Base file is stock, dsp1 is around 1800us, dsp2 is 2125us, dsp3 is 2750.

Boost table is too high IMO on dsp4 and need backed off. It's calling for 51psia, really pushing a stock turbo too far. If you need this file to drive the truck around, it will be ok to run on the lower settings. Could run the bigger two if you have work done to the trans and a lift pump.

If u have the vin number that's ur best chance but u would have to ask all the tuners if they have tuned that vin. Unless it was self tuned then u may never know

Judging by the vastly different timing tables even between the smaller tunes (especially in the low load areas) I'd have to say they weren't very well versed in tuning. All the pilot timing tables are the same, and it appeared by a quick glance that all the fuel pressure tables were stock.

I'm in town now, but I can post the tune file I ran the script on if anybody wants later tonight.

Motor came from a wrecked truck. Probably now know why he crashed it.
