i have an LBZ (LBZ wiring ecm etc with LML bottom end and LLY top end injectors etc with a 68mm billet turbo) retro fitted into a truck here in Australia i have just converted im having a miss issue which is intermittent ill start the truck up it will idle perfect for about 2 minutes then start knocking hard and missing i replaced all the injectors with brand new ones and the problem is still there i had and injector circuit code come up thats what led me to the injector replacement, im lost as to what it could be. i started the car and when it was knocking/missing i pulled the plugs off the injectors and it seems like injectors 3,5,6 and 8 are not even firing  any help would be awesome but as said it runs perfect for about 2 minuted then it happens so im lost as to what it could be could it be a tune issue due to running the LLY injectors with the LBZ wiring and ECM?

I would guess something in the computer since lly and lbz injectors are different. A simple solution would to use lbz heads with lbz injectors.

They will run I know people with lly injectors and lbz injectors in the same engine busted a head and had an lly lying around and it runs fine :/

I know that the ECM's are different between the lly and LBZ. If i remember right(and someone correct me if wrong) they use different operating systems. Same reason you can have to program high idle on the LBZ or switch tunes with insight on the LLY. I do also think that on LBZ engines the injectors have trim codes that need to be programmed in. I think the best bet would be just to put LBZ injectors into the truck

Im sure its not an issue and several reputable duramax specialist have also said LLY injectors should be fine with the LBZ system

Any more guesses it runs perfect then just starts hunting/surging and just stops then wont restart then leave it over night it will start straight up and then do the same :(

I could of sworn I saw another thread on here about using lbz/lly injectors in the different two heads. I couldn't find it though.

Did you try contacting Russ at RPM Motorsports, if anyone has done that before it would be him.

See this is the messed up bit people say yes some say no its pretty annoying as for the voltage thing the lly solenoids and the lbz solenoids are the same part number in the bosch book according to my bosch guy so that should rule out that issue

Does anyone know what ohms lbz injectors are I was told the lly injectors wouldn't be an issue with an lbz operating system (ecm) I dont want to jave to buy a whole nother set of lbz injectors and have them modified to fit in lly heads :(

LBZ injectors "DON'T" work in a LLY head anyway. have you scanned it and see what things like fuel pressure and and pulse are doing when it dies, also when it shuts down does it start right back up and run normal for another two minutes and die again?

I was just trying to show that he said it would only start once. That must have came off like I was being a dick. Sorry I should of just said it different.

Negative. Other way around. LLY injectors fit in LBZ heads bit need a larger oring to seal them. LLY heads have to be machined out bigger for LBZ injectors to fit
