2001 Dmax has no power when you accelerate mild to hard off of a stop or during driving. It will barely get over 25mph. Had low fuel rail pressure and signs that the Cp3 was dying( almost 300,000 miles) Now it still has the same issues, does anybody have any ideas??

Thanks,

Joe

Cp3 could be bad or could be in limp mode. How many codes? Did you clear the codes and it still dose it?

just a guess but your fuel filter could be stopped up if you bought some fuel from an older station. i did one time and the next few days my truck wouldnt go and it gave me a low fuel rail pressure code so i changed the filter and that fixed it,

You said it had signs of a bad CP3 and now it is doing it again? Have you done anything to fix the truck? More info would be helpful. If it is low on power and throwing low rail pressure codes you either have a restriction on the supply side, a weak CP3, bad injectors, or a high pressure fuel leak.

OK we had a coolant leak, O ring did not seal properly  But its back together now. Went for a road test, still have the same issues. The replacement of the CP3 took care of the no start issues. I can accelerate from a dead stop fine, but only up to 25 MPH then it loses all power. I guess it is going into "limp mode" ?? I hooked up the scanner and there are NO CODES!! WTH!! This is driving me nuts!!!:angry5::angry5: I hope one of you out there has an idea!!

Thanks!!

Yes fuel filter was replaced. I have a Snap-On Solus Pro VS 9.4 I can't get it to read the injector balance though.

Did you clean your tank and pickup when you changed the cp3? It is highly likely that it has a restriction from growth of black algae in the tank.

NO we did not drop the tank, but the tank was cleaned and serviced about year ago. Could this be transmission related??

Did you watch actual and desired rail pressure with your Snap-On scan tool?

HELP !!!! HELP!!!! 11 Duramax power loss

Hey guys, I had the weirdest thing with my chevy. Today my duramax instead of picking up and going it started to drive slowly and lost power, no check engine light came on, when I kept driving, i know this that the power was getting weaker and weaker, eventually I got to the point where i couldn't pull in to my drive way, the truck starts and runs like nothing happens but doesn't want to go when you try to move it. I have full egr delete, and the cat as been removed, what can it be? please help, This truck was pulling great until this happened
