Help plz anyways I have a 2007 chevy silverado 3500 anyways on my way home from work I got alittle down the road then my truck all of a sudden quit shifting and how I could tell was it was jumping up to 3000 rpms so I pulled over and put it in park and killed then I turned it on and put it in reverse wouldn't go it said shift inhibited switch to N to reset and I did but before doing that I put it back in drive and it still wasn't shifting anyways I reset it I got back to my town finally Anyways I went to my cousins job and put it on a scanner and some codes popped up like the p0700 and some for the glow plugs and one for solonoids and something for low voltage.. I replaced the tcm just 2 months ago what should I look at now I mean I'm lost this is my first diesel so like I said I'm lost any help I can get will be appreciated thanks

do some searches in the transmission section about the NSBW ( neutral safety backup switch ) and for the solenoids. both are easy to replace; just time consuming... and the solenoids are inside the trans s new fluid would be needed.

how many miles on the truck..??? 2wd or 4wd...?? RC, EC or CC....???

just so we all know what you have to work with....

the other codes we can figure out late in a new thread once we get ya fixed up with the trans..!!:thumb:

His truck is an 07. The NSBU switch is located in the trans not on the side like the 5 speeds. They're not common to go bad on the 6 speeds like the 5 speeds are.

This thread should of been put under mike l trans talk and would most likely get a better response there. Maybe if kat sees this she can move the thread over there for you.

Try and get the exact codes. P0700 is just a generic code. You mentioned there were other trans codes. Try and get those codes so guys can help you with diagnosing what went wrong.

Pretty sure I had the same problem on my lb7, first it wouldn't go into gear at all, I played with the box under the truck beside the tranny and then I could get it into drive, reverse, and drive but only in 2nd gear, so that black box was fried and full of crap making it short out, not sure what it was called anymore tho. Hope that helps a bit

It has alittle 200k on it I'ma take it to the shop and put it back on the code reader here in a few.. What's the possibilities of a exposed wire? What's this mean when people disconnect there Battery and let it set for 1/2 hr then connect them back what does this do? Anyways my truck is 2007 chevy silverado 3500 hd 4x4 I just replaced the tcm like 2 months ago...

Ok so I just got back from my cousins shop and hooked the scanner back to it and no codes showed.. So we are just gonna replace the speed sensor and the wiring harness and see if that changes anything... Hope so... And I found out that the bateries are kinda to small so I have to buy new batteries also.. Could that help with my situation?

Good batteries are critical for the Allison electronics.
