Hey guys, got a friend that needs some help, he's about 4 hours away from home. Trucks throwing a p0708 code. He staying it's stuck In a gear and he's limping it to a local parts store. What direction should I tell him to go?

I will add, he's going to try throwing a nsbu switch at it to see if it cures the issue till he gets home

that's going to be a pain in the parking lot. the nsbu switch is inside the pan. maybe disconnect the transmission electrical connector and see if it has any fluid in it. if it does then have him clean it how real well and see if the code goes away

What year truck? Never mind, just saw it. Rare to see a 708 code as the switch rarely goes bad. Could be a bad TCM.

Just drove and got the truck. Delete code, truck works great up till around the 3 min mark, starts to have issues again and locks it up in what ever gear it is in. I'm am with you mike, going to throw a tcm at is as I checked out the harness pretty good.

So little info on this odd scenario. Truck will be completely fine for around 3 mins or so after deleting code and shutting truck off and then you can drive it. No cel. After your 3 mins are up truck will throw a cel p0708, stabilitrac kicks on and you'll lose line on the dash for hear indicator and it'll lock you in w.e gear you were in at that time.

Dealer had tcm in stock, fixed the issue. Thanks Mike! Seemed to odd to be anything else.
