So ever since I purchased my Caddy I have been addicted to heated seats. Love them! However it has leather. My pickup on the other hand has cloth seats. They are ripped and torn and the driver's seat needs new foam. So when I get those parts to replace I was debating putting in heating elements. I was thinking of either building my own kit with GM parts or maybe just doing one of the retrofit kits that are available out there. But I'm curious how well heated CLOTH seats would work? Anyone else done that before? Not sure if the cloth will transfer the heat as well?

Do it! My brothers wrx has factory seat heaters in the cloth seats and they work great. I have a few GM heater elements laying around if you need any.

The 2014 trucks are going to come with heated seats as an option with cloth. :)

You shouldn't have any issues :imo

Good to hear! I may have to snag a few of those elements if you have any that'll match the seams in the seat. The seat heaters in my Cadillac are just a simple stand alone wiring system so that's where I got the idea to build my own set. There are plenty of those cars in the wrecking yards

It'll have new foam and seat covers so hopefully we can keep the stink down to a minimum :roflmao:

I actually looked into this a while back as I had to replace my steering wheel. Looked a bit more in depth than I wanted to deal with, just to have a heated steering wheel.
