I live in the San Fernando valley of LA. All I know is how do some of you handle living in this heat. I'm calling out the ones in Vegas and Arizona. My weather station had us at 116 and 110 in the shade yesterday. Today was 112 and 104 but the humidity level was way up today. Thank goodness I've got a newer AC system and a pool. At 6am it was 91 today. Right now the wife and I are enjoying the pol and adult beverages. The temp is down to 90.

Ha. You poor bastards.

It was a screaming 75 yesterday and 68 today. I think the hottest day this year was maybe 85. Good working outside weather.
At 6am today when I went to work, in shorts and a t shirt, it was 45 lol.

Born and raised in LA, CA and spent many years in mojave desert. Never really considered LA to be hot. When I lived in the mojave desert it regularly hit 120 in the summer. No air conditioning either. Built up my tolerance for heat.

Now living up in the Sacramento area. For me it doesn't really start to bother me much until it starts to reach 110*. I don't run my AC in my house or vehicle unless I have a guest

It was 123 in rancho cucamunga yesterday and 119 where I live. Caused Disney to shut down three times due to brown outs(100K).

It decimated my garden and killed all my saplings... ill be lucky if anything survives. Like 2004lb7 said we dont run ac. $550-650 a month so its a no go. It isnt really bad till its humid. And ac is broke in the truck.... 4-60ac!:rofl:

A little better this morning. Its 80 degrees now. I've lived here my whole life and been through many a hot summer but it only lasts 3-5 days. Its the 2-3 weeks or more that would bother me. Maybe as I've gotten older, been in the construction industry my whole life and working outdoors that I don't like the heat anymore. I've got solar panels and barely have an electric bill, so the AC is set at 78.

Here in Gulf Coast TX not having AC is like one step above homelessness. You just feel bad for anyone in 98* with 95% humidity.
I hate the dry heat of the desert more though especially if it's the Santa Anna's kicking up.

After a while I got used to AZ heat, it's not really something you fully get used to but you get somewhat acclimated to it, dry heat is a milliontimes better than humidity though imo. I just stay inside as much as I can, work a little extra OT to cover my electric bill, I keep my AC at 75 and 74 when I sleep

Mid 90s and higher humidity the last couple weeks up here in MidMichigan. Lemme tell ya, it sucks. I hate hot weather. You guys in Cali and Ariz can keep those triple digits.
I've drank a lot of H2O and Gatorade while out on the route, its all you can do. Dealt with a lot of the inane, "Is it hot enough for you?" questions from people, who arent asking while holding a bottle of water for me, either. Needless to say, I got a little snippy with them.

The house A/C has been on the whole time. I dont want to see our electrical bill in July.

It’s actually been a very mild summer in AZ thus far. Really only about a weeks worth of days above 110*. Been averaging closer to 105* all June. We hit 116* last Thursday. Last year we had 5 days of 120*’s and two weeks in the 115* and up. I guess you just get use to it. When I moved back down from flagstaff, that first summer I was miserable and swore I was gunna die. Rarely gets much above 90* in flag and by that time the monsoons start and drop temps to the 70s every afternoon.

Swamp coolers still work in this heat and there’s no damn humidity..... yet. That’s the part I can’t stand and it’s about to start.

Been in the 70's up here in western Washington, with some 80° days here and there so far this summer. Up coming week looks like mid 80's all week. We have it pretty good up here.

I hate the humidity. Working in Ontario on the Minnesota border and in Siberia almost killed me in the summer. I don’t mind a dry heat. Nice thing about living in the mountains we don’t get much for humidity.

I remember one time I went on a training course for two weeks in Tulsa in the late summer. Had to share a two bedroom with a dude from Indo. Almost killed him with frostbite I had the ac so low lol. He had every piece of clothing he owned on the one morning lol. It was 80 out.

When the rest of the country calls it a heat wave, we call it summer. We actually have a bit of a cold front coming thru this week with highs in the upper 90’s. And I tend to not trust people’s pics of their outside temps from a vehicle. I’ve seen mine read high 120’s to low 130’s sitting in my driveway with the sun beating on the garage door.

Swamp coolers still work in this heat and there’s no damn humidity..... yet. That’s the part I can’t stand and it’s about to start.

We always ran a swamp cooler. Never ran the air. The month of August always sucked lol.

And I tend to not trust people’s pics of their outside temps from a vehicle. I’ve seen mine read high 120’s to low 130’s sitting in my driveway with the sun beating on the garage door.

Vegas is, and probably will be, the worst place for heat in the summer as far as I'm concerned. At least aside from the places people don't actually live. I used to travel to Vegas for work at least once a month and hated July and August. Nothing worse than a crap rental car with not tint.

It's no better here in Florida. We may not have triple digit temps but we get mid to high 90s. Tack on 99% humidity and it's basically like working in a sauna. You'd think the torrential rain we get every day would cool it down but it doesn't. Just makes it even more steamy.

We had a baseball tournament in high school in Greenville Ms in August one year and that was the absolute worst heat I’ve ever experienced. Triple digits and high humidity. It was rough on pitchers. Guys who we could normally count on 5+ innings out of could bearly make it past 2. They let catchers rotate in and out every inning.

Greenville is just south of where I live.. Yeah it can get really rough in the MS delta. The high humidity is crazy

One year I had a jetski race out in indio, near coachella. It was 117 and 95%... the worst ever the water was 98* and I had to wear my wetsuit. The worst part about the whole thing is the lake was reclaimed water! The hot subtle shit smell. F-that!
