My Denali headlights are looking a little dim.... I don't feel like coughing up lung for a set of new OEM Denali headlights. Does anybody know who restores them? Like replacing the outside lens.

Or maybe I'll just quit being a cheapass...

It can be done yourself for relatively cheap or check Craigslist. Guy locally back home does it for ~25 a headlight if you have someone do it make them take the headlight out of the truck I've seen pictures from where a kid tried to do it on a car and ran the da across the hood. Not to mention it won't get compound all over the front end.

Step 1: throw them in the trash

Step 2: put stock headlights in

Step 3: drink a beer and admire your handywork

Problem solved....your welcome.

I was thinking of trying a new set from 1aauto. Not Denali style but for regular lenses it was just ove a hundred bucks for both headlights and turn signals. Mine are sandblasted pretty bad and they are a site sponsor.

3M makes a headlight restoration kit that comprises of several sanding disk that range from 400 to 3000 grit sandpaper that gets rid of the yellowing from oxidation that is forming from the uv coating.

Since the 3M kit doesn't provide a UV type coating, Meguiars recently came out with a UV restoration kit that runs about $19.

If you check on AutoGeek.net, you will see a forums area. From there, you can look up this topic. In addition, Meguiars has a forum as well. Between theses two areas, you can find out some helpful information that get you pointed in the right direction.

but to be helpful to Joey boy.

unless you clear coat the headlight, they will oxidize again in about a year or so. specially cause your old LBZ sits outside.

id take them off and to a paint shop. tell them you want the lense sanded down to get rid of the oxidizing and then gloss clear on them to make them new again. they will stay new looking for many years

After I did the projector retrofit on my Cadillac I used BG's headlight restore kit. That was two years ago and they still look fantastic!

Mother's makes a good kit as well but if you were to invest in a da polisher it doesn't take much time with the right pad and polish combo to bring them back, plus you can use it on the truck while your at it

Wet sand to 3000 grit by hand then hit them with rubbing compound with a polisher then uv protector. Pretty quick process and has always worked for me.
