Just took my heads to the shop to get resurfaced. They took the intakes off. Underneath, not part of the intake, are two threaded holes. I don't have any hardware for them, and they are dusty looking like they've never been used. Are there supposed to be any bolts there? Want to be certain before I put seal the intake up and drop the head on. Thanks!!

I totally can't recall on those two holes, but as for getting the cup off the injector, I've done that before.

If you don't care about the cup, just clamp down on it with a vice. Then grab the injector with a wrench where the hold down normally goes, and try to rotate it. Once it breaks free and spins, it should lift right out.

If you do care about the cup, do the same thing, but with a piece of wood or nylon between the cup and the vice.

That's what worked for me, as I recall.

If I remember those holes are not used, when you silicon the intake runners down they are covered. Just put the silicon on the runner and torque them down. From what I have heard some have made a slap hammer to remove the cup. If you use the search on here they show pics and give the lows/Home Depot shopping parts list.

Sweet. That's done and torqued. Seems I remember on the driver's side you have to put the back two bolts in before dropping the head on. Is it the same on the passenger's? Also, Is it better to place the alignment dowels on the block side to hold the gasket or the head side? Thanks!

I used a ziptie to hold the stud in the head while I set it down on the block. You can put the studs in on the passenger side once you set it on the block. You will once the dowel pins in the block to hold the gasket in place. Hope this helps ya out.
