LB7: head gaskets????

Just my luck my daily driver blows a head gasket:confused:I ve got my other d-max in the machine shop and i guess my question is if i went ahead and got my arp studs could i reuse them in my new motor or should i just get gm bolts for now???? And as far as head gaskets on just go back with gm on those to or is their any other suggestions?

Yes there ARP's can be re-used , you can put the same grade Gaskets back on it that come off , or just go with grade C's . I put grade C's on my GMC and I cant even tell the difference from the little bit of compression drop .

Stock gaskets are as good as or better than anything else on the market. I know a few months ago they were pretty hard to come by, but if you can get them, that's what I would recommend. If the dealer doesn't have them in stock, you can get head gaskets from Guy at SoCal Diesel.

To answer your other question, ARP studs are reusable.

DPR carrys some kind of posi seal gasket or somthing i was thinking about useing those on my built motor....you think i should stick with stock gaskets on a twined motor as well?

I think i can get fel pro head gaskets from napa but they are asking for a thikness anybody know the thickness on the 'c' gaskets? I would think fel pros would be more than enough dont you guys think? And their cheaper....

If i recall forty thousandsth crushed . I highly suggest factory head gaskets.

With as difficult as HG's are to swap on our trucks, I'd go OEM unless you have a specific need on a race-only vehicle. It's not worth saving a few bucks, nor are all the "race" versions as good as the stockers.

SoCal usually has all the variations in stock.
