well looks like Im another victim of the head gaskets . The truck has been having the low coolant light coming on a lot lately . In the past I would add maybe a pint . Now I open the coolant tank cover and there is some pressure and the level comes back up and I dont have to add anything . coolant tank is clean . truck has never over heated or blown off coolant in the last 30k miles ive owned it . Today I took it to a diesel buddy of mine and we did the blue liquid test to coolant tank . after a minute of the bubbles coming up ,the blue turned to a green color . the injectors are original . truck has 97 k on it now . Does this sound like hg issue to you?????

ill bet money its a injector cup lifted. i had the same exact symptoms. mine would hold pressure for days or how ever long before i released the cap. we thought it was the h/g but when we pulled the motor, gaskets were fine, 1 cup was lifted. when you go back together with it make sure to seal with loctite or a retaining compound of some sort.

I did not realize that the cups were an issue unless after an injector change . How do I go about checking this ? besides pulling everything and check internally one by one .

mine was doing the same thing, i added studs and the socal billet holdowns and it cured the pressurized coolant system but i was still losing coolant.

also to install the hold downs you have to pull the injectors, no cups came out.

than i began swapping waterpumps. jfyi

I was wondering what ever became of this issue. I may be experiencing similar symptoms.
