Was doing some shopping the other week over on XDP's website and went to order some head gaskets. They had 2 different part numbers...5458 and 5459.

Doesn't say anything special about the 5458 gaskets but it says the 5459 gaskets have "wave stopper" technology in them, $75 a piece for the "regular" gasket and $110 a piece for the "wave stoppers".

Long story short, I bought the more expensive wave stoppers. Upon examining, I don't see anything special about them. Anyone know if the one is actually better than the other? They had a 10% off coupon code so I got them for $98 each. Not really worried about it, just curious.

"The Victor Reinz Cylinder Head Gasket 5459X (1.05 Thickness) features the patented WaveStopper design which features concentric waves around the combustion chamber (in the spring steel active layer) allowing the head gasket to adapt to varying loads and pressures."
