HD Hood differences

Not sure if this has been beat to death or not but I have 04 lb7 2500HD. Want to replace the hood bit not certain the differences between the regular hood versus the HD hood. Can't really seem to find a a true pic of the highly sought after HD. Any pics would be much appreciated. My current hood rounds up at the front of the hood from corner of headlight to corner of headlight. I bought a used grill that the guy said it was for HD but the hood line goes straight across. Doesn't fit my hood leaving a big gap between hood and grill. Any help appreciated.

I'm 99% sure the HD and non-HD hood were exactly the same for 04. In 05, the HD hood and grille changed.

04 hoods were all the same but the 05 to 07 hood fits. I've seen a lot of guys use the 05-07 hoods without changing the grill.

05 they changed it. If you have the red truck in the picture and want to sell the old hood and grille let me know. I have a 05 Grille or HD grille I could trade.

Actually I think you can only go the other way. 05 Grille and 03/04 hood not the other way around. I dont think it would work.

03-04 hoods are different from the 05.5 to 07 classics. You will need the grill as well if you trade up to the newer HD hood

You could run a 03-04 hood on a 05/06 grille. It would look funny but would work.

You can use the 03-04 grill. I have two buddies with SS trucks that have HD hoods. Same exact thing.

05-07 Classic Chevy Silverados have the "Power Dome" hood. Apparently, GMC's didn't rate...:roflmao:

The 04 good hits the 05 grille where the 04 hood is more pointed at the bottom

You can run an 05 hood with an 04 grille but it looks off.
