Here`s the start of my blown head gasket and i am sure a bent rod cause thats my luck It never got hotter than 215 on the gauge and then started skipping......and she makes noise........... Didnt really want to be here

It was a little more work but easy and no leaning,climbing,scratching fenders etc IMO its worth it I am getting old i guess started at 8 am and motor is on floor now 1 guy working on it I am so upset i have to go through this right now but if u play u will pay Now what to do about rods pistons,head studs etc should i or shouldnt i I really dont have the money to do it all but if i am in this far its almost a given to find the money.I also may just take tunes out and leave stock as i have to do the tranny after this.I wish i couls send it to mike L or george in MD but they want whole truck understandingly so so another few G there all on a 04 i got to be nuts i am sayiing to self and as a everyday driver work truck

Any and all opinions ideas accepted from you guys who have done this before will be appreciated dont have tiume to search threads right now

OMG i just priced out everything that i will need to put this back together :banghead: Well this is not going to be put back together soon as i dont want to put it back together stock,At the tune of $7500.00 for aftermarket parts to be done right (which i cant afford right now) I will have to let it set and figure out when and how to come up with the money I should get heads off first but i am sure i bent rods i know i hammered it twice bad and it seemed to run rough after so between that and coolant problem it has to have hurt the rods I would say the tune was a 500plus rh hp i had a G-tec in truck and it read 630 ??? Thanks fort all the thoughts i need them i am dying over here oh well You play u pay

Thats damn cheap for a rebuild with aftermarket parts. I bet itll end up being more.

yeah but i am getting parts from the manufacter as i am a jobber and can do the work myself as i have a Automotive machine shop Daves Auto Machine and can do most everything myself.I helped a member here with his build on the bottom end and it seems to be going fine havent heard from hin so i guess all is well well i gotta stop babbling and get this mess cleaned up i need a helper this is alot of work sti nks getting lazy and old lol

Thanks Kat great link i dont know if i want to go and put all the HP parts to it as i drive it everyday and tow with it.Also the money is a issue kinda tight right now with racing just starting,but dont want to be here anytime soon either
