i dont like doing that especially on a tag trailer.... toooooo easy to "wag the dog" like that due to the trailer being too ass heavy
Reminds me of this lol redneck towing Service
talking about your rear axle on the truck. at best you got is maybe 7,000lb worth of rims and tires on the truck...
01-06 2500HD has
11,000lb axle
6000lb springs
rims and tires are week link oke:
who makes 7500lb trailer axles now a days?
Your axles are very likely 7,000lb axles. So together you're allowed 14k on the axles plus some tongue weight but you have to subtract the weight of the trailer to figure out what you can haul. It better be an awfully small dump truck to legally be on a 14k trailer figuring the trailer is better then 3k empty.Custom ordered from heartland trailer it can haul a dump truck if I wanted
I think GM calls the springs somewhere around 2400 or 2600 per side on the 3/4tons. The 1 tons are 3300lbs per side I believe. I'm considering switching to 1 ton springs on my 3/4ton. Even with airbags my factory springs are shot.
6000lb springs on the rear axle for the 2500HD GMT800 trucks 5+1 (5 main and overload) standard 2 stage
7000lb for srw 3500 usually has 5+1 that the 2500 have with a 1 leaf helper 3 stage spring
7-10,000lb on DRW p/u and C&C 3500 trucks 3 stage spring with 5+1 with any where from 1-3 spring 3rd stage
these doesnt take acount for the 3rd stage factory spring.. i know for fact that 8,000lb pin weight does not put my dually on the bump stops

I would like to see the truck on level ground... With your truck at the bottom of a hill and the load shoving down its gonna add A LOT of weight to the pin.
Personally I haul with trucks back on but I'm a fat back truck so it handles the sway that can happen. That is NoT heavy enough load for your truck to squat that much.
this is how my DRW is setup..Edit, does your truck have overloads on top of the leaf pack that touch a set of of pads placed on the frame when loaded or is that just a Ford thing and GM just keeps adding more springs to the original pack with the main overload on the bottom?
Will a drw spring setup fit a srw? Or can I just add the overload spring
I do know that 8k pin weight (plus the additional 5-600 for my toolbox and 200-1200lb for my 100 gallon fuel tank) put my 3/4ton even with the air bags pretty close to the bump stops lol.
Once I figure out what leaf spring setup I want from a drw truck I'm swapping those in to replace my worn out leaf springs.

What bags you running? I haul the same in my bed, and with 35lbs of air the sits level. I hauled my 32 ft camper (not sure of the exact tongue weight, but it leveled my 05' out (3" drop) and it had 8 leafs and one overload. Iput 80lbs in the bags on this truck (no weight distribution hooked up) and the truck didnt even drop and inch.
I bought ride right spring assister I hope this help haul that pig
