Question: has anyone had the dealer flash and lock the ecm

Im new to the site and i have a 03 duramax with 170,000 and i think im haveing injector issues it hayzes blue smoke after it idles or runs for a while and when at a stop in gear with the brake on it surges like 100 or 200 rpms everyonce and awile and idles rough.I just reinstaled my stock tune and took out my other efi live tunes before i take it to the dealer but i talked to a guy today that said he put the stock tunes back for some guys with injector issues and when they brought their trucks back to get the tunes reinstaled the ecm was locked and would'nt load them.was wondering if anyone else had heard that

i heard of somthing like that i have a power stroke also that my dads has for a work truck and he took his tunner out beofore he went to dealer cause it was having problem and when he goes to put tunner in it wont let him.

if that happens i will be upset no point in haveing a tranny,gauges,or exhaust and all the other stuff if i have to run around on the stock setting

I haven't heard of this. But, if it's locked you can always buy a spare which I think people should have anyway when playing with EFI Live

I have heard of this. Most of the time its a canned tuner and it wasnt new enough for the new os and wont unlock it. What tuner do you have? You might have to send it back in to get it updated.

oops, well if its got the current updates hes golden.

i have efi live.I havnt had a problem yet (crossing my fingers)but i talked to a guy today that said acouple of the dealerships other guys were taking their trucks to get worked on at are flasing the ecm and locking them so when they went back to get there efi tunes reinstaled it wouldnt let it.they tried efi,ppe,edge none of them would work

was there software/tuner updated?
Did they try alt. keys?
Our ECMs are and always have been locked, the tuner/software 'breaks' in and unlocks so we can tune. If the software/tuner is not updated to unlock the key, then that will happen.

also this is a friend that heard this from someone right......
