Lately I've been having some hard start issues and I'm not sure why. The past three mornings has been the roughest. I let the glow plugs cycle about 2-3 times and it still cranks awhile before it starts. Normally it only turns over 2-3 times and its running. My block heater is no good and I didn't get time this summer to change it. I have a couple thoughts on what it may be, but I figured I'd ask on here and get some other thoughts.
1. What's the symptoms of a bad fuel pressure regulator?
2. Could it be my glow plugs going bad, or a wire broken?
3. Could my injectors finally be almost dead?

Now when the truck gets up to operating temperature its the same problem. It'll crank forever before it wants to start. Hopefully I can get some insight on the problem. Thanks all!! And have a Merry Christmas!! :thumb:

If you have bad injectors ,high return rates, that will cause hard starts. If it does the same at normal operating temps start up that kind of rules out the glow plugs. Check your injectors

I'm assuming this would cause the same hard start problem on a cold start? This morning it did the same, cranked and cranked before it started.
