2011 lml with 68,500mi starts hard only when temps drop to single digits. No codes glow plugs are working with meter and key on they start at 5.2 volts then it slowly drops to 3.8 volts and voltage goes away after three seconds . 10 degrees and warmer let glow plugs cycle for 3 seconds starts right up. I’ve had this truck sit in negative temps for more than 48 hours and fire right up with the remote start when it still had cp4. That will not happen now just cranks and stubbles for 10-15 seconds while cranking then stops and you have to get in it and try again I’ve cycled glow plugs no change. Truck has exergy sportsman cp3 with PPEI tow tune.

How old is the time from PPEI? Might give them a shout and see about an updated tune.

Spoke with PPEI today I was told they have not seen this come across as a tuning issue.

Have you logged rail pressure while cranking and after start? Maybe it has issues there.

You could ask for PPEI to increase the glow plug run time, but that sounds like a band-aid for whatever the real issue is.

I will check with scan tool in the am. I would think that cycling key three times would do the same as having PPEI extend glow plug time and that made no difference at all. Temp was 28 this am started right up fine with remote start. Temps Saturday night into Sunday morning we’re below zero Truck did not start Sunday morning would crank burp fart ton of white smoke like a old Detroit I plugged it in went back inside.
