EFI live is a good tool to invest in for diagnostic purposes as well as tuning, they can be found used at a lower price pretty frequently too. I assumed you had one from your "DSP5 tuned" signature.

I have a 2008 Suburban that I had the 6.0 gas swapped to a 2008 LMM Duramax. I am having an issue with a hard down shift when coming to a stop. If I completely stop and immediately start again it will slam into 1st. If I stop and give it 2 - 3 seconds it will not happen. Any thoughts?

Do you think that the trans is going to neutral after the stop? If that is what is happening, that indicates a loss or slip of clutches. Was anything done to the trans? Changes such as Transgo Jr or 2 wheel to 4 wheel drive... anything that would have caused the trans to be worked on?
