2005 LLY, Mike L built 5 speed, out of the blue hard 1-2 and 3-4 shift, progressed rapidly now 5-10 second delay before it'll shift into reverse or drive, just a few minutes ago when it tried to shift 1-2 it had 10 seconds of hang time and then SLAMMED into gear. Fluid is still good and full, gonna try to limp home change Allison spin on filter out and see if it helps. Did some googling and I've seen multiple discussions of the exact same symptoms and it was a bad or broken spring in the A or B trim valve in the valve body.

Has anyone encountered his problem before and if so please post your experience/fix.

Does anyone have a schematic showing the Allison 5 speed valve body and where the A/B trim valves/springs are and a link to purchase new springs?

Much appreciated!

PS; had Trans codes read and there were none current or stored. Mike L says can't troubleshoot without it there or codes. Need my truck back ASAP!

Thanks!

Spin on won't help. I would drop the pan and peel the sump filter open and see what's inside, if anything.
How long ago did we do it? This will tell me if it has the Transgo springs or my springs. If it has a broken trim spring I can send you my replacements. Replacing them will require spliting the valve body.

Hey Mike!

Previous owner says early 2013, 30k miles ago, said it was a stage 4 build with suncoast internals. I'll order a new sump filter and I will order springs from you.

Why not just tow it to Mike's if he has time.....

Because it costs time/money I don't have to spare right now, otherwise i would.

I have no problem splitting my valve body, just want to get an idea where to start, and from what I've read I'm thinking those springs might be a potential source of my problem.

Let me know when I can order the trim springs :)
