So I have pulled a couple times in work stock never hanging weights, I have the opportunity in an up coming pull to hang weights. Anything you guys suggest about hanging weights? Being a regular cab I can move a bunch of weight around but I don't think I should hang it all off of the front, any ideas suggestions much appreciated, Thanx

It depends on how long the track is. We had short tracks in CT and I used to hang 700-900 lbs out front and put the rest to make weight over the axle. The weight comes on quicker on short tracks so you need to be more balanced for more throttle out of the hole so you get your speed up. So the longer the track the more weight you can hang out front.

Is there a difference between hard and soft tracks also? We have a lot of weight to play with now and were trying to decide if the front end is the best place for it all. They generally let us run out 300'+. Just trying to decide if we should put a weight bracket back in front of the rear end also. Never had so much weight to play with so it's a good feeling.

I would want more weight out front with a rclb to help with the wheelbase disadvantage. But I always like to keep a couple hundred lbs. In the back as well.

I also have a RCLB W/S puller and was wondering the same thing. Please give an update after you pull hanging weight. I would think it would be best to hang it all out front, but would like to here some real world experience on it.

I run 1000lbs up front, 8 inch blocks for rear suspension stops (4-2x2 sq tubes welded together for suspension stops) and my truck levels out almost perfect. We have decent clay to dirt tracks. 33x12.50 tires, and am I always top 3 in an altered stock/ w.s. type class.

I have run 1900 lbs all up front. i have always run everything up front in both of my regular cabs. don't be afraid of it!:D make sure you have some stiff springs so that your ass doesn't squat and you lose all of your hitch height and lose traction

What are you guy's running for rear springs when you can't clamp or block your rear suspension? Custom built rear springs?

there was a truck around here that did pretty well.. it was a reg cab... the weight was all upfront and ran 1st high range with smaller tires.. it worked well

We found some over rear helped. Even more with slicker tracks. The tricky part is knowing if that is consistent for other trucks setups or not.

my old 02 I had some heavy duty overloads so I could just take the stops off the frame in the off season and not have a harsh ride. truck is sig had some fancy springs but ditched those for stops

I am going to assume you are not lowering torsion bars with this kinda weight?
not all the way down, I think 4 turns on both sides. had to run clamps in rear so it wouldn't unload as bad.

Wanna loan me 1200lbs o weight :)

I run all on the front except for on the soft tracks or one with a bad start line.

I like this idea

I have my torsion bolts all the way out. As far as a rule against blocks in the back, can you run air bags? Also if your blocking your rear end make sure you are running some sort of long ladder/traction bar. I have seen several trucks wrap rear ends up and break u joints.
