The truck shifts perfectly fine except at WOT. It hangs gears pretty bad, especially 4-5th reaching rpm's over 4k. Then slams HARD into 5th like a sling shot. SES light came on. Pulled P0700. Had a tech2 scan and pulled the p0700 as well as a U2105??? Not sure what's going on here. Fuel filter was replaced 3k ago.

I bet if I went to the track, I'd run in the 15's. It feels like it's not getting power to the ground. Almost feels like you're just spinning in 2wd at a launch but lost somewhere in the tranny.

This sounds like someone tried to use a Kennedy 4500 TCM tune and botched it. Locked tunes don't copy well.

As I have already told you Jonathan, the reason you are hanging shift now and weren't before is that when you changed to your new tires we adjusted the ECM tune for it but never did the TCM. It is not hitting the WOT shift speed by the time it hits the WOT shift RPM. Stop by tomorrow and we will get it straightened out.

BTW I have never touched, installed, or logged anything from a 4500 TCM and didn't even know that people used 4500 TCM tunes in 2500-3500 trucks.

So to answer the questions the TCM is tuned by me, from scratch, from the stock TCM tune and has not been adjusted since Jonathan lifted his truck and put 305-55-R20s on it. When he told me it was shifting funny I told him to not run through the gears at WOT until I got to adjust his tuning. He obviously didn't listen, ran it WOT through the gears, threw a P0700 code and got it scanned at Advanced Auto (not a Tech II) and found a U2105 as well.

I bet if you went to the track it would be high 12s at a low trap speed. See you tomorrow.

O/t -

Othrgrl, what is this causing (incorrect speed reading in the trans?) and how would you go about fixing it?.......I believe I had the same problem a couple months ago with my one tune (adjusted ecm for 265s), but it never threw a code.

The post was not really concerning the tuning dustin seeing that we've already discussed that earlier today. I was more concerned with the u2105 code which supposedly deals with a loose wire??? Figured if I found out the problem, it could help other people such as Whitetail. That's the point of this forum last time I checked. Not trying to discredit anything relevant to you. Thankkssssss

Jonathan - I know that wasn't your reason for posting here. It's Jordan that will try to twist it into something to do with us regarless of the cause.

You always seem to have tuning problems. Weird  And my truck runs 12.8s but I'm better than everyone and know everything

I do? I guess if you call my first LMM race tune putting down 520hp and running 13.2s in a heavy 2WD crew cab problems? Maybe the LBZ that runs 12.4s all day with a built trans, shimmed, exhaust and lift pump? So where are the tuning problems you speak of? When I haven't had a chance to adjust a tune for changes made to the truck? Yes, my tunes do not adjust themselves - if you know of a way to make self-adjusting tunes let me know.

Seriously though I haven't gotten to dial Jonathan's truck in since the 4088 - he made one pass with it while I was there and was under the turbo when he launched and had a bad run. I haven't even gotten to get up with him to spend time doing it on the street. The trans tune ran fine when he ran a 12.97 on his second pass ever. It also ran fine when he ran a 12.8 on that bad run - just needed the shift points raised slightly. He also ran a 12.6 on the trans tune at another track. He changed to larger tires and hasn't had the TCM tuning adjusted for it. We'll get it taken care of tomorrow.

why doesn't he just call you and spare us the cheer leading. We have reeces truck going faster than all your mentioned trucks anyway. So just pick the phone up instead of just posting up how shitty your truck runs. At least put a log up

Is it just me or is there more and more threads where people are just slamming others?

Cant we all just get along? ;)

Saying Jonathan has a tuning problem is slamming no one. He posted it himself. I didn't post paragraphs trying to validate myself. There's always some problem with tuning if you really wanted help you'd need to put up a tune or a log so we can help. Otherwise why not just contact your tuner?

Trans flairs when shifting

Well if nothing else I learned something from this tread. I moved my shift points up to 4200 and 4400 and done nothing with the speed. I just moved the wot rpm point. I guess thats why mine is shifting like crap! I guess its back to the drawing board for me. Jeff

I have adjusted my shift points for towing by using %'s increase rpm by 10% and speed by 10%. I'm sure its not lined up perfect, but I haven't had any issues or hanging shifts maybe this will help.

And I can feel the hate and discontent in this thread :(

for what its worth i just went through alot of tcm tuning at the strip in az first time out with tires, chargers , converter , feed pipes, fuel pick up ect . what i had dialed perfect for last year was crap on this new setup . it took about 10 runs to get it pretty good , from tcm tuning alone ( shift points ) i picked up 4 mph , and .3 sec on my lb7 anything over 3600-3700 was costing me et and mph due to slow shifting . right now all shifts happen around 3670 . just what i have found on my truck . and i agree there has been alot of pissing matches latley . its unfortunate .

I'm learning alot from this thread.....might need a little clarification on my original question though :D

I never even opened a tcm tune.....didn't want to mess with it and create a tie-up....so I'm unsure of the parameters.
