yesterday, the 28th jaden and jaycee---my 5yr and 4yr daughters-- were in friona spending the night with their grandparents. late that afternoon they went out with julie's dad to check cows and ride the 4 wheeler. all went well until they got ready to load the atv up and come home. when they were getting off----jaycee in front, jaden in the middle and gary in the rear-------- jaycee decides to hit the gas just as her sissy, and papa were getting off. some how the 4 wheeler slams them all the ground and does severe damage to jadens face. we are in covenant hospital in lubbock. she just came out of surgery with a plastic surgeon. she has a bad tear on the corner of her mouth, in her mouth her whole lower cheek and lip were ripped from her jaw bone on the lower part of her outer jaw she has a puncture that goes completely through into her mouth. the dr told us he could put a piece of gauze in the inside of her mouth and pull it through to the outside!!!! he's sewn it up all really well and thinks that scaring will maybe be kept to a minimum. the bad news is that the nerve that controls feeling in the lower lip has been severed and more than likely will not grow back. all in all that's not near as bad as things could have been.

a prayer for us please:(

I'm sorry to hear about that. It's always rough to hear about bad things happening to little ones. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

thanks guys. your kind words and prayers mean alot. im sure this is lots harder on me than it is her. hell shes only asked for pain meds once since this all has happened and hasnt cried any at all---------thats way more than i can say for myself. seeing her there yesterday when some of her school friends came to the hospital to see her was nearly more than i could take. they were talking to her and playing around her bed here in the hosp. room and she was just calmly watching and listening to them. i wanted her up and running around with them so so bad. i know it will come in time but as usual i want it NOW! shes doing great considering what all shes been through.

I'm sorry she and your family have to go through this. I can't stand to see children suffering. Praying for a quick and full recovery.

Please keep us posted.

I did something very similar when I was a kid, and had some pretty extensive facial damage. It wasn't fun, and if one of my little princesses was in that position, the tears would flow. I'm hoping and praying for a speedy recovery for your little one. Texas girls are tough, and they can handle pretty much anything. Hope all goes well when you get her home.

yes, thanks so much for your concern. been home a couple of days, and we slipped out of the house this morning withour mommy knowing---had a great morning together. we ran into my grandma and her and her lil sis went home with her and made necklaces and who knows what else. shes doing great, im just worried about her smile i realize that she has stitches and swelling so i suppose im rushing to judgement about it. i just want her to be normal and no kids have anything to be ugly to her at school about. i remember what a shithead i was in school and pray that someone isnt that way to her.
