10+ years a Dmax owner and have decided to park BBT in favor of something more comfortable and quiet that gets better mileage to drive back and forth to work.
I'll still keep her, as she has meant far too much to me to sell. It will just end up our tow vehicle and occasional driver.
I also haven't decided what I'm going to do with the 1/2 ton or all those parts yet either. They'll just sit in the shop for the time being.
Now, I've always been an Oldsmobile fan. My parents owned Oldsmobiles when I was a kid. My first car was a '71 Cutlass 4dr (old Airport Authority car that my Dad drove), and I've owned at least 10 Olds cars over the years, whether as drivers, winter beaters, or donors. Favorites were my blue '82 Cutlass Supreme, the burgundy '85 Toronado Caliente that replaced it, and the '67 Cutlass I bought on a whim from a customer back in 2000 (and sold for 2x $$ three years later). In my opinion, GM made a huge mistake in phasing out Olds.
After helping our son buy that 01 Aurora in January, I went searching for one of my own. You wouldnt believe how popular these cars are if they are in good condition. If you don't jump on a good one fast, its sold just-like-that. Finally found a loaded-out 2003 4.0 with 74,000 miles for a good price, only missing a nav unit and 12 disc changer. It is like new inside and out. No rust anywhere. For those who know the Northstars, don't worry....it has no oil leaks, no coolant issues, no transmission hiccups. Not like I'm worried anyway, not after rebuilding a Duramax. I replaced the front brakes and sway bar end links and that was it.
See ya around guys and gals.
