Is it possible? What would be the down side if it is? I still have the the first 4202r and can't seem to sell it so I figure we should use it. If I put it on the pedastal on the motor and fed it with the max is this going to work or not really worth messing with?

Are you saying you want to build a compound turbo setup using the 4202R and the 42 Magnum?

I am just wondering if this is even worth jacking with. We have this turbo sitting in box since we upgraded to the mag. The mag is supposed to give 15% to 25% more power. Just thinking, I could possible set up twins with little mods to the 02r to compensate for the minimal size difference or what can be done. No use in a brand new turbo just sitting there, and we can always use more power.

I would guess the map of those two turbos is too close to use them together in a twin setup.

Me and some others have been discussing the pros and cons of finding something bigger to feed the existing turbo. I am still trying to learn all I can about them on diesels. I understand the feeder has to big enough not to cause a restriction to the one being fed like using an F1 supercharger with 2200cfm to feed a large turbo. I just thought maybe I could use what I have versus bying something new.

x2 would need something big to use , s595 or gt55 . not worth it in my opinion . i still dont think you have out grown the 42 mag ? if twins are in the cards pick something with big air and fast spooling .

Generaly you want the larger turbo to flow 1.5-2 times the air of the smaller. I like to keep it on the tighter end but I think that will be way to small for a bottom turbo....or the top ones way to big:D

i asked Guy about twining the 7.1L and he said that Nathan's BIG kit with eh 71mm HTT as the small would work pretty good. not sure what Nathank has for the big turbo tho. but like Trent said it would have to be a GT55 or a S500

good luck

i think i would stick with a 66 16cm and just gate the sh&t out of it :D it would spool waaaaaay fast with the stroker ! maybe a S490 over it ( minimum ) . give you a fast spooling 10 sec rig you could still tow with :cool:
