Hey guys, need a bit of help. I won't be doing dual fuelers and charger updates until at least the fall. But I am really trying to think about what I want to do for air. I know the Danville 72 is the simplest option but a lot of my buddies are pushing me towards fixed vane. If I go fixed vane I'm going to go all the way with it.

The 4094 seems like it would be too small so......

The GT4202R with the PPE install kit seems to be the way to go but I want to hear from guys running this charger.
1: What do you have for fuel mods?
2: How is it to live with in a daily driver?
3: Can you tow with it?
4: Peak Power
5: Track times
6: Overall impressions

I know I'm asking a lot but the idea of a big single scares me a bit. Just hoping those of you running the charger could sway me one way or the other. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

EDIT: Also curious about the GTX4202R. I think they will be more than enough up top. Just nervous about spool and drivability

I have had both the gt4094r and the gt4202r. I ran the 4094r with stock fueling and duel fuelers. For a daily driver it was great with stock fueling just was laggy before it spooled when it came time to pass someone. It was fine for towing i mainly use it towing peanut trailers full out of the field. With dual fuelers it was evening better. Now the gt4202r i only use it to sled pull and for that it was a great charger with my setup dual fuelers and 60%over injectors. Before i bought it it was on a truck that was a DD/weekend warrior and the guy towed his 28ft toyhauler to all the events he went to with the truck and he was at 850rwhp. They are both great chargers. But if you decide to get the gt4202r go with a 1.10 exhaust no bigger if for a DD.

Thanks for the input. This is exactly what I'm looking for. Just wish you had some street miles to tell me about!

I know my charger is a bit different than the one you want but its still a big single. With the right trans tune it will do great daily driving and towing. You'll just be downshifting more with the new trans tune to keep egts in check when towing. Also the big hit you get from a large single when it lights is a rush!

^That's what I'm looking for. My truck is faster on the track than a few of my friends' but the feeling of a fixed geometry charger coming onto boost is sooo nice lol

You usually think of a truck with a big single as a laggy pig.Tuners are more experienced now and most know how to get a charger to light reasonably fast, not fast as a vgt but fast. And when it does hit the sweet spot and start to light it will nearly bend the boost needle it comes on boost so quick. My charger begins to build at around 1700 rpms or so and by 2000 its pulling pretty good, at 2200 your hoping the tires dont break loose.

I don't have alot of experience with the s472 on my truck yet as I have just been driving it normal until I get it properly tuned for this charger. But I can say it's really not that laggy, unless your trying to roll in to it once the converters locked say going 55+ mph. Other than that it lights up pretty good. Stock fuel here too. I'll be meeting with tony soon to get her dialed in. But as of now I'm pretty happy. Also, you can't beat the sound of a big single fixed geometry!! I love it. Pretty well behaved turbo to drive on the street. Can't wait to run her a couple times.

Make sure you have the correct converter

I figured I would probably have to hp a it looser. Something tells me the tranny will become an issue once I have the dual fuelers anyways. It was built by a local guy before I knew about dipper and mike l etc.

When I got my S475 I already had a Suncoast 1057. I drove it for almost two years and it did fine on the street but at the track not so good. I had lots of trouble spooling at the line. I just got my trans refreshed last week and had a PI high stall converter installed and its much better all around now. It really made a difference at the track, with the 57 I could only get up to about 2000 rpms and I had to sit there for a few seconds or so before boost started building. With the high stall I can build 3000 and boost comes right up. IF you already have a built trans you will be ok with the converter you have but I'd be making plans to swap it out.

I have a custom Suncoast converter ready to drop in... waiting on clutches to get here before I pull the trans though. But this converter will give the turbo pleeeeenty of time to spool... :woott:

How much hp will one of these chargers support? I feel like I've read it's well over 1000 with the proper supporting mods but I don't plan to make more than 8 or 900. Stock delipped pistons would make me nervous beyond that

i was in the 850-900hp with my gt4202r and was running a suncoast 1053 convertor. I actually swapped my 1057 for the 1053 from the guy i bought the gt4202r from since he was going back to stock
