Does anybody out there have, or know where to get just the grey tcm plug for the 01-05 allison TCM? I'm looking to make a bench harness to flash my spare TCM's, and all the yards by me want $35 for just the 1 plug. Getting to the TCM plugs in my BURB is a PITA with how I had to bury it in my swap, so a bench harness will simplify things GREATLY!

I should feel bad, just picked up a 5 speed tcm for $35. Went in to get 3 0411 and a 1565 pcm's for $35 a piece, ended up 1 of the 0411's were missing and another was mismarked. It ended up being an 01 tcm out of an 8.1l, but they went ahead and sold me the 3 for $35 a piece.

You can get them on Mouser. The GM part number is 15305371 ($2.27 ea), but it appears 12129025 is a new number for it and is cheaper ($1.61). You can look on Aptiv (Delphi)'s website to see the terminals you need. You will also need:

  • 12129026 Seal ($4.46)
  • 12129023 Retainer ($0.93, blue, can't find clear one)
  • 12129030 Strain Relief ($2.53)
  • 12084912 (large) or 12084913 (small) Terminals ($0.50-$0.60 each)
That's over $10 with even a couple pins, plus shipping. So it will be a smidge cheaper, and new, but will be the wrong color (blue vs clear) and you have to wait for parts.

That's alot cheaper than allison. Allison lists it for $47.35. I've got lots of pins as they're the same as the ones for the ecm, I even have a red plug from my 99 pcm swap, but no grey. Just need a plug to add onto my bench harness. I've got 3 TCM's here that can all become "01's".

any idea what the part number for the gray connector that plugs into the back of the trans on the external harness side? my keepers are gone on that and i dont want it backing out.

Can you pm me, we are starting to get more and more Duramax platform trucks come over the scales at are salvage yard. I could possibly just cut the harness and ship it out to you.

The difference is what wire gauge they are designed for.

  • 12084912 "large = 0.80 mm², or about 18 gauge
  • 12084913 "small" = 0.50-0.35 mm², or about 20-22 gauge

ahhh thanks dave! i bought both since they were so cheap

Feel like an idiot. I went through my connectors and found a 32 pin clear plug from my 99 pcm swap. Sure enough, it plugs right into the tcm's grey plug, so now I just have to add it onto my bench harness.
