Well I got my butt handed to me by a SS BB 454 rolling start he got me to high for first and not enough for 2nd. All it did was bog then light the turbo but it was too late! He spanked me bad! I thought I might have a better chance form a dead start build some boost and launch in 4x4 don’t know but I am going to try it the most he can do is beat me again.

or next time you do a roll make sure the rpms are up as high as they can be without shifting into the next gear. (tow haul). that way it'll spool instantly

Rolling starts are for NASCAR or IRL not street racing, he was already afraid if he asked for a rolling start.

What is done to your truck?

If your dmax is pretty decently setup, it should have beat that thing fairly easily.

I assume you're talking about the old C/K "SS 454" that they made in the early 1990's right? Those things made a lot of noise and looked cool, but quite frankly, they werent fast. Even the 03-06 Silverado SS's arent that fast either. (stock)

That's an understatement, I was horribly disappointed when I drove one. I drove my buddies and raced him against my LT1 Z28. It looked like I floored it in reverse.
Definitely run this guy again from a dig.

Run him again from a roll. Put it in 2nd in manual mode and start hitting plus as soon as you nail it. Even a completely stock truck should be able to outrun one of those trucks unless he has a lot of work done to it. I think they have something like 250 HP stock depending on the year.

MyBad this was NO TRUCK it was a chevelle ss 454 Built pretty strong. I have laid the smack down on the trucks But this Car would move! I am going to try him again ferom a standstill. we are good friends anyway:hug:

you should be able to get him from a roll or a dig. you can put it in manual select from a roll and brake boost too. you might pill the tires off though lol:woott:

Man I thought I could but I dont think it will happen. I am not real good with this GMC yet anyway, Heres the thing I drove Dodges Cummins till this year and just getting the hang of this truck. The spool time and transmision is so different. But man this truck is my BABY One Bad Toy!
