I love the cts-v, Family mans Vette:D I had my wife talked into trading her Denali in for one last year but I could not find a "V" locally to buy. As far as the BMW's I will take a cts-v over one anyday, Thats what my wife had before the Denali and it was a P.O.S.

Had a Denali (6.0 all wheel) great in the snow, it ate the front dif in 13k miles for whatever reason (50K vehicle). They never did get the traction control light to stay off on asphalt. I still own a GM, die hard faithful. CTS-V is a sweet ride and i agree with you, fast as a raped ape.

Usually the people who can afford a 70K ride (20k down 1000 month no insurance) are looking past brute speed and HP and towards how/if it can be used and of course status. Cadi is still a Gm product. :)

super diesel

<<<< Under Pressure
I herd the base model was 60K? If so, this is a huge advantage over the others in that class. The report I read did say it beat the others in it's class as well, hence the new record. That is probably one of the few CARS I would own (if I bought another car). I do love the BMWs and AMGs though.

I would like to see more info on that new twin turbo diesel Beemer aross the pond thats supposedly beating up on every thing over there.

Interesting part of this was filmed at Fontana where we drag race. Looks like they need a new driver. Should be doing 11's at 114 mph

Yeah, no kidding. Not very much wheelspin at launch either.

i think it would be better with a smaller pully and a set of slicks and with the 6spd man tranny

I've been lusting after those since they came out with the new blower motor! Unfortunately, the wife hates they way they look. :(

As far as the "it's no BMW or MB" argument is concerned, I just ditched my '04 E55 AMG because the ergonomics and driver feedback SUCKED in that car. How bad was it? Bad enough to outweigh the fact that the car dyno'd 490rwhp, had every option available to mankind, and was completely off of law enforcement's attention-radar. The European cars are nice and all, but IMO their quality has dropped in the last 10 years and the American's (Caddy in particular) have really stepped up their game.

never tried the caddy, but I did the MB/BMW shootout and I liked the BMW feedback better. People say it has a harsher ride, I say more feedback. I don't like feeling disconnected from the road at high speed.

Personally I wouldn't buy something someone else has modified and drag raced. But, that is just me :baby:

No longer Europe only.....;) We got em! And Ya, pretty slick ride!

I "was" A factory trained BMW tech (independant BMW now) and I do have some partialness to BMW's. That said, some mods to a new M5 or M6 outta be one nasty ride, factory 500hp F1 type V-10:eek: Even the new M3's are V8's! Now I'd like to have a 135ci, 330hp twin turbo, direct injected I-6, in a tiny car = white nuckle ride!

Now the New CTS-V is killa! IDK its a slightly differant ZR-1 mill! I knew it was blown but didnt know its that motor! Any engine with titanium rods from the factory is one sick puppy

A good friend of mine is a driver for GM and did 200 back to back 1/4 mile runs in one at Phoenix AZ for testing. In street trim made 100 passes, ran 12.20's to 12.40's with literally no stops between runs other than to drive back up to the starting line and stage. They then mounted drag radials and 11.80's to 12.0's for 100 more laps, no rest.

Pretty impressive car for $60K.

Love My LS Motors

Besides having my 05 Duramax, I have an 01 Camaro SS and my wife drives an 06 Trailblazer SS. A few mods to these motors can make for a wicked ride. I would love to swap in that LS7 though !
