So I'm cruising down the freeway doing 75 mph in Wendy in the fast lane with Pat riding shotgun. All of sudden this CTS hammers it from the lane next to me in front of me

Damn that car is fast went from like 75 to 100 in a blink of eye I was impressed:eek: The only thing I didn't like is that there was no super charger whine:(

Pat later searched and told me GM paid big bucks so you wouldn't be able to hear the whine. Talk about big time sleeper.

It was stunning how fast that Cadillac accelerated at freeway speeds. It's the same engine as a ZR-1 Corvette but with a different cam for more low-rpm power.

I would love to have one of those things. How much do they cost?
And why did they get rid of the supercharger whine. It sounds so much cooler

Isn't that one of those new 550hp jobs that set that new track record for fastest time in a RWD or something?

Yep, but only by a few tenths wasn't it? The car it beat had 50 less HP and no supercharger though right? Based on the drivers statements was much harder to get around the course "square". It'll never be a BMW, sorry. My Bro has a bunch of 'em, some with 140K miles that do WELL over 130 MPH comfortably and squeek free.

Cool hot rod for sure.

cool car indeed. I am a former BMW owner (lessee) and let me just say SOLID! that car was a tank. Inline 6, lotta torque. handled like a dream and just felt tight all around.

But I do love my GMC. Can't wait till the wife releases the funds for my EFI purchase... from the Rat of course ;)

Can't go wrong with EFI and Pats starter race tune, do the trans soon.

I still drive a BMW... it has over 250K on it now, 6 cyl 535 original motor never been cracked, its currently my shop truck for the build... a fit 2 10' sticks of pipe in it (1 4" and 1 5") and drove from Corona to San Diego in it...:D

when i bought my truck (early 07) there was a guy in the parking lot with one of those jobs, older one I think it was just a CTS then.. He had headers, exhaust and a cam i guess. I know he had the headers and exhaust, the cam im not sure of but it loped like crazy.

all i can say is that it sound NICE.

I love the cts-v, Family mans Vette:D I had my wife talked into trading her Denali in for one last year but I could not find a "V" locally to buy. As far as the BMW's I will take a cts-v over one anyday, Thats what my wife had before the Denali and it was a P.O.S.

No shame in getting blown away by another GM product!

Gotta hand it to em, those CTS-V's are just plain sinister. The LS engines are hard to beat and easy to mod.
