Does anybody have any experience with these GN to 5ver "adapters"? I've got a GN hitch in my truck and I'm looking at toyhaulers, but they're all 5th wheel. I've seen these adapters and some of them look pretty nice, but I'd like some more info.

Thanks!

we have an adapter on our 36' montana. it works very well. it not only tightens up at the king pin but it also bolts to the king pin box as well. the one we have is made by colbert. its $$$$$ but its a smooth tow with no bucking.

The PopUp RV3 hitch is the one I have been looking at. It looks the sturdiest, by far. Some of the adapters I've seen looked downright scary! It's some decent $$$, but still a better option that a whole new hitch in the bed of my truck, I think.

I'ved towed the same 5th wheel with and without the goose neck adapter.

Didnt like the gooseneck adapter, kinda beats you up more. the 5th wheel hitch takes some of the swaying and bouncing out of it.

We have been using an adapter on our 5er for several years. I have read ALL kinds of stuff about voiding manufacturer warrenty due to the newer ones not having the frame made for the gooseneck hitch. I will say it takes longer to hitch and unhitch, but I do not have the monster hitch in the back of the truck all the time.

I think a much better way to go is the B&W system that uses the flip over ball for good neck and then an adapter that slip in where the ball goes and is a regular 5th wheel hitch. Works great, is still a goose neck when you need it and a 5th wheel when you need it. No warranty issues from trailer manufactures who don't like their 5th wheel trailer converted to a goose neck.

That is what I have in my truck and it works real good. I didn't want rails in the bed, b&w solved that issue. Not cheap though.

The B&W flip over ball sounds great, but I already have a GN hitch. I don't htink swapping it for another GN hitch is a very efficient option.

acording to your sig you already have a b&w hitch. the ball comes out and the companion hitch installs in its place.

I don't have the removable B&W hitch. I have the folding one. It flips over on a hinge and lays flat. It's not the one that removes and leaves a square hole in the bed.
