i didnt know that jsut having my injectors under the valve cover would do this!
"Since the injectors are under the valve cover in the engine, lubricating oil fuel dilution occurred and often ended in a catastrophic engine failure"
they need to add a little more info there IMOP.
I'm pretty sure you know that fuel dilution isn't an uncommon problem on LB7s. Cracked injector bodies and/or leaking fuel lines isn't unheard of. There has been more than one person who has wiped out a motor because of it.
I think it's clear enough what they are saying. The most problematic issue with the LB7 is injector failure. Since the injectors are under the valve cover in the engine, lubricating oil fuel dilution occurred and often ended in a catastrophic engine failure. A class action lawsuit against GM resulted in an extended warranty for this situation for 7 year/200,000 mile coverage.
my LBZ pushrods have an oil hole. But everyone online seems to agree with what your saying Don't think my motor has ever been apart until now.
they continued to use the remaining stock of holed-pushrods that they had until they were gone. They went to the new-style lifters (that didnt need pushrod-hole-oiling) with the LLY. So, as far as I know, on 01-04 LB7's, you HAVE to use holed pushrods...LLY+ you can use either.
Someone correct me if im wrong.
