Ya i guess i might as well build it if the trans is out. If i had the tools id do it myself but i dont know that i wanna spend the money for someone else to do it either. I dont like spending money but i like doing things right the first time so i dont know what ill do.
There really aren't any specialty tools required. Just normal hand tools.

Hmm well i know a guy who wants to do it and said if i wanted to drive down we could do ours together. Hes in need of one and so am i so im toying with the idea of rebuilding mine along with his. Only thing is hes got a 12" lift so a lift for him wont really be necessary lol. Im not sure if he has a truck lift in his shop. Is a lift really neccesary?

if you can get the truck into the air it sure helps..pulling an Allison out is perty much straight forward nuthin special to it..

if your looking to max the truck out but keep the stock turbo the TTS tranny kit with a good TC is all you need but if you plan on possibly doing a Turbo in the future i would do the Stage 4 SunCoast right away..our LBZ will never have a bigger turbo so thats the reason i went that route.

he's already limped his transmission, probably some damage to the clutch packs already, so, IMO, he needs more than a tts kit

Get your trans done first, you shouldnt be racing until you get it fixed, no sense in making it worse than it is :)
