Saw that on Jalopnik yesterday. First reaction was AWESOME, then I saw the RAM style toolboxes and thought "Super AWESOME", then I read the bed is 5'6" and said "Aw Crap!"

"automatic front and rear locking differentials"

hmmm...front gov-lock?

I doubt they will build it though. Very cool? Yeah. But they would never sell enough to turn a profit on them. I mean really, how many dodge power wagons have you seen on the road....and those have a full 6.5 foot bed!!! I know ive seen two since they came out.

I'll say it now. IT'll NEVER happen. I don't what's wrong with GM but it seems that they don't like to listen to the consumer. They can't build a sport truck to save their life, their idea of a sports car is a cobalt with a supercharger and they are the only maker still offering a 3/4 and 1ton truck without a SFA (i know beating a dead horse there).

I doubt it would ever be built also. But maybe its a good indication of where the design and look of GM trucks will go in the future. I could see GM pairing with an after market company and offering the suspension and maybe some other components as a dealer ad on. That would even be kinda cool.

IF and thats a big IF, they do produce them, i really hope the put a rear spring pack with preload and correct progressive leaf stacking for "off road". the raptor can benifit hugely from that.

Ill keep my truck though :D

I'd take it. As long it rides better than spending a crapload of cash just to get the suspension riding better than mine does in offroad.

Go figure-still can't engineer an option for a Super 60 Dana ft. axle like a Ford with coilovers to just make it what I'd buy. IFS not again next one here needs to be a Ford since GM won't make mine. LBZ will even be converted to S60 once the parts come from Santa and the junkyard elves.........

Looks great other then the front bumper, but the front approach angle would suck if it stuck out more.

I see them somewhat regularly down here, but have see a ton of the new Rapors. I think that what they need to gear a off road truck towards. After all I bet you that trucks would be $70K+ in a HD DMax version.

Hummer Replacement???

Looks impressive.

I'd buy one, but it would be better sold as a 1/2 ton with the 4.5l diesel.

The bedside boxes can go. With a truck that tall, you need a step just to get into the box, forget reaching the bottom. That is unless you are 7' tall.

Half ton 4.5 Dmax would def sell better. I guess they are keeping the torsion bar suspension, no coilovers?!......Gay! I just drove my uncle's SVT Raptor and it is sweet but its no rocket ship. GM could kill the Raptor and Power Wagon if they would just listen to us.
