GMC 2500hd duramax fuel issue

Maybe your loosing prime??? Start with the filter head probably a bad oring. Have you done anything service wise to it? Search feature is your friend here. Welcome
Had the same issue with my truck after towing in Tuscon. I had air getting into my fuel system at the filter head. There are rebuild and replacement kits. I think I paid about $140 for a new filter head. Best way to check is to press the prime 'button' on the filter head after the truck is off. If it is soft after truck is off for sometime, you are losing pressure somewhere. Later, I ended up adding a lift pump and removing the test port/Schrader valve as well and haven't had a problem since. If you get a chance, add details about your rig like year make, model, mileage, any modifications. This will help people diagnose your issues.
I’d just slap a lift pump on it and let the good times roll. I know my filter heads shot but it starts and runs.
