it is not GM's fault. It is the fault of the supplier of the heated windshield washer fluid module. They went belly up and basically just cut GM loose.

So really, theres nothing GM can do. They cant have the mfg fix it because they dont exist anymore, and they probably could not figure out an economical way to fix it properly without a redesigned module...which they cant produce without the windshield heater MFG, and they dont have the money to fix all of the modules because the MFG cut GM loose.

If losing your heated windshiled washer fluid is the biggest complaint you have about your truck I would say you are doing pretty damn well.:)

Gonna have to agree. It's not the end of the world, pretty sure everyone survived without heated washer fluid before. Oh well, gives some people a reason to bitch...

Ok let me put it to you this way. Why dont you just go buy a ford?
Ill tell you why. Its a Piece of shit I know Im a ford diesel tech and I can tell you that just about every ford product sucks HUGE dick. I can tell you MANY more issues than your SILLY heater problem. A fng gas motor bairly lasts to 80k if your lucky and the same goes for the 6.0 powerjunk. MANY 6.0's have cause bankruptcy for small buisinesses trying to keep them on the road to do buisiness. so if you think u got problemss then go buy another brand and see what u get then =) Dodge is a Piece of shit too trust me. gm aint the best but they are the best of the Domestics :thumb:

no way!!! Very cool!!! Glad to see that someone stepped up to the plate with making an OEM retrofit. I honestly would have never guessed this would happen.

Hey Nick hows that truck worked out for ya so far? Have you had any prob or anything with it?

Really loving it, only thing I dont like about it was it cost more than my 05 and my LLY I could beat on that all day long, and still get 17-18 mpg, this thing if I baby it I get 16-17 which is good, if I drive it like my old LLY, I get like 13 mpg. But all in all I think I came out ahead, because the exterior and interiors are so much more refined on the LMM's. You find another truck to buy yet?

Found a company making a replacement module...check it out. http://www.alphathermusa.com/heatedwash-AT-37GM.html
Think that's the way I'm going to go.

Jason

Alpha Therm is the same company as the original Microheat supplier to GM.
GM forced Microheat into bankruptcy as GM was 75-80% of their base sales.
The assets were purchased and Alpha Therm was the new name.
They still operate in the same location in MI and still have the original phone number.
I had a tour there about 3 months ago and meet the one of owners and managers nice people to conduct business with.
They heater has been redesigned it is a nice replacement.
The whole Recall issue is still in the courts between Microheat shareholders and GM.
I have sold these myself.
If any Vendors here on the forum want to sell these I will give the wholesale details and direct contact details just PM me.
