GM recalls all vehicles with heated windshield wipers, they cannot provide a fix for the systems, so there recall will consist of disabling the module, rerouting the lines and giving you $100, that sounds unacceptable to me, this the crap people hate abou

it is not GM's fault. It is the fault of the supplier of the heated windshield washer fluid module. They went belly up and basically just cut GM loose.

So really, theres nothing GM can do. They cant have the mfg fix it because they dont exist anymore, and they probably could not figure out an economical way to fix it properly without a redesigned module...which they cant produce without the windshield heater MFG, and they dont have the money to fix all of the modules because the MFG cut GM loose.

If losing your heated windshiled washer fluid is the biggest complaint you have about your truck I would say you are doing pretty damn well.:)

Unfortunately, most people will not know this and see it as GM's fault...

Ford is still going thru lawsuits and wrongful death suit over a fault brake/cruise switch. I think GM is on the ball for doing it this way to avoid major costs a possibly deaths from a fire hazzard. Its just a silly luxury we can live without, people are getting to spoiled these days anyways.

Not in my country. As soon as it gets below -10C forget about using the window piss if your driving. Freezes as soon as it hits the window.

Its not heated windshield wiper...lol. Its heated washer reservoirs that are faulty.

If you are really worried that much, take the 100bucks and go buy yourself some heated hand grips (the flat ones that roll around the tube) for a motorcycle and attach them to the tank and wire back to the switch.....BAMB!

i know. did the same when i lived in Flagstaff. im talkin about the wash fluid freezing in the truck container. Unless your runnin straight water ive yet to see stuff rated for -20F freeze at -20F which i dont see as a common temp in the US for long periods of time

For $100 I'll take my chances on my truck going up, I wonder how many people would be ok with $100 if they decided they had faulty seat heaters? 1.5 million vehicles affected, how many people are going to be happy about this? Whether heated washer fluid is somthing you guys in your opinions deem nessacary? Its a pretty nice feature in my humble opinion, and GM's fault or not, its ultimately sold in there product, upsetting that many people and offering them a measley $100 sum is not good business.

Really you want to risk an 80,000 dollar truck on stupid heated washer fluid that you don't even need in Cali

I guess I am more attached to my truck than most

You should see the bugs and crap roll off the window with the heated fluid.

I`ll take the $100 and let em disable the thing...I`ve never used it anyway. And I`m one of those folks who lives in fairly cold temps at times here in Michigan.

Pretty slick idea there. Do you have to add some sort of thermostat (like a rear window defogger) so they can automatically shut off?
