Hard to get good pics due to little room but...
This one has the hybrid system on it from the looks of it..

I got more pics I'll post later.

Got pics and a video of Gms new high pressure injection system for the gassers.

Hmm...since when is a 5500 a "Silverado"? Is GM going the Ford route and calling the whole truck line the same name so they can count them all in their sales figures, too?

I see it has the Cali "Clean Air" sticker on it. Our trucks with 6.7 Cummins have those. Rear pinion parking brake, too?

Typical for a tilt hood.

What gets me is that ugly ass Cali clean idle sticker on the front fender, couldn't they find a better spot.

Other than that it's a damn good looking truck

Sadly, they legally have to go there if I remember correctly.

So far this is the only one they ordered. I spoke to the boss man in charge of ordering vehicles and they will have more on the way.

As far as I know these fall under the medium duty department like the previous generation. But I could be wrong.

The parking brake used to be on the back of the trans if it was a 2wd. I hated those when I worked for my local RV service center, always gave out.

I was told that they will be getting both the gas and diesel engine options on the lot soon. As of right now the gas engine is the 6.0 L96. which is scary.. But that will change when GM announces the actual release date of the new 6.6 IH V8 Gas engine.

From what info I was able to gather, The Duramax will be geared at 4.88 and the gasser at 5.13.

The only thing I did notice from the autoshow model is that that particular truck didn't have airbags like this one. So I am wondering if that is an option or standard.

I have been waiting for these to come out so someone can bring me one so I can look it over and start collecting data on these. I'll defiantly be waiting for the service materials to be released. I want to study these trucks.

And the red one that was on display at the auto show this past year is indeed a 6500. So that begs the question, do airbags stop at the 5500s or are they available throughout? I'll get more info when my dealer gets it. They are going to possibly let me take it in the service bay and take my MDI and poke around in there and see whats going on and how the diagnostic interface differs from the light duty and previous generation medium duties. I am pretty damn sure that you'll still need the medium duty GDS subscription for these too, pretty sure they will make sure to mark the VINs.

GM changed their TIS2WEB system....again. So pretty sure they changed how some of this stuff works.

I figured I'd add a few pictures I got of one at an NRA outdoor show back at the beginning of February.

It wouldnt surprise me at all that they would combine forces to design/build those trucks.

Sure would be nice if they would’ve gone with a 10 lug setup instead of 8. Just my opinion.
