So my balance rates haven't been the greatest for a little while now. Mainly #5 injector. So I figured I would do a DIY injector cleaning with the gm injector cleaner.
So I searched for the DIY thread and followed it. Pretty simple....
I will compare balance rates before and after, I'm actually already in the middle of the cleaning right now.
Here is what I did...poured the 16oz bottle of injector cleaner into a container and then added roughly half a gallon of diesel, then added maybe 4 table spoons of ATF just for the hell of it.
I'm not going to go into the details of exactly how to do it because there are plenty of threads already out there.
I'm just putting it to the test to see how well it actually works and if it's worth spending the $24 that the 16oz bottle of injector cleaner costs.
I also opened up DVT in efi live and set the rpm to 1000 for a portion of the cleanening. So far it's been idling for about 20 min and burned about 1/3 of the fuel/atf/cleaning solution.
