So the lml is sitting at 94k miles and after seeing some issues locally with the trucks that are pulling hard 90% of the time i think an extended warranty is in order.

Issue is, when calling the local dealer (not where we purchased the truck) they claim they only offer a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty for $3300! Thats not gonna cut it in 3 months it will be used up. So i called the dealer we purchased from 75 miles away and they said they would be happy to discuss options i tell them i dont have time to drive out and ask if there local to me dealer can work with me, issue is the local to me dealer is a dodge dealer and i dont know if they will have the knowledge needed to answer my questions

I know the truck needs to go in and get the front axle seals replaced as they are leaking (most likely from the vibration issue we chased for 8 months and $4000). But i dont see why someone here local cant help? Is there a way i can go through gm alone and cut out the middle man? Does the truck need to be inspected before they will give it more warranty?

If anyone knows anything about this stuff please let me know, it will be greatly appreciated

I'd research and talk to 3rd party warranty providers too. Some go to 200k miles. Most have an "only covered if it is lubed by oil" policy. So only internal engine, trans, case, and axles. Fuel system most likely wouldn't be covered.

I dont recommend and aftermarkey warranty period. Dealt with them alot on head gasket jobs at my last place of employment. They ONLY covered half the labor, the two head gaskets, no machining, and some random gaskets and o rings. Customer still have to come up with $2000-2500 out of pocket.

Thats kinda what the guy said that i buy all my trucks from (used trucks). With this truck being the main bread winner for my sis i think a warranty is important

Never really saw the need for one really. Truck has never given me any trouble (unless I created it)

Issue is really we got a new trialer end of last year 48' and i cant remember the max width... But its big enough for the draft horses side by side with fresh and dark tanks full 50 gal of gas for the generator feed and hay the truck is pulling hard at over 35k here in ks its not a big deal but the rockies work it pretty hard 6-8 times a years the lb7 made over 300k with a trailer roughly the same weight but smaller. And other than injectors it did great.

My biggest worry is the cp4 and the rest of the down stream fuel system it will destroy when and if it goes out. Also i have seen a couple 11 and 12 trucks with broken cranks all stock pulling at around 200k miles. That said inhave no idea what kind of maintance they recieved or anything. I do know our lml is rode hard and put away wet 5-7 days a week and with my sis as the primary driver the PM leaves alot to be desired

Minus the death wobble we chased for so long the truck has been bullet proof

If the new HD's werent so damn ugly (exception of the denalis) we would get another truck the original plan was when the lb7 died to get a kodiak but the old truck ran long enough that gm stopped their medium duty line.
