A grease gun sits in the bay at the dealer. If I pay to have them do ALL service recommended in the manual, they should do it. I have 4 receipts for service, each one shows "inspect & lubricate steering & suspension. $29.95". This in addition to oil & Filter change, fuel filter change... The bill is over $300 for a standard service interval. Which they stated "lube all grease nipples". Thats exactly what they did, smeared grease on the nipple... And they wonder why GM went bankrupt?

And how does that affect warranty? My truck is over 60,000mi so I do all my own service work now. GM really let me down IMO.

what about the TCM?
Should a guy have one of those too?

BTW I priced a TCM at $1500 from my friendly Canadian dealer.... ouch.

I'm not suggesting you try to cheat the dealer, I believe if something breaks because of a mod you did you should pay. But if you have an issue that you feel was not caused by a mod you did and you know the dealer is going to check your ECM and try to get out of covering under waranty, snatch the ECM out, call for a tow truck and tell them you were robbed. You buy a new ECM and they do the other repairs under waranty. Then you have an extra ECM to play with and one to keep stock.

I do feel I have been ripped.
Every dealer but the assholes that rebuilt my trans have never heard of rebuilding the allison, they replace it.
For the 5 hours the tech got paid, he did not have time to measure tolerances, and set clearances. They simply slapped new clutches and converter in my truck.
I am really pissed about that because, otherwise the truck is a "PIN" as the last dealer called it. Its a new truck with 40K miles and a POS transmission.

haha.
I am too honest to go through that trouble.

I am either gonna have a trans built, or sell the truck.
But first the TCM needs to be proven reliable, so it doesn't burn my built transmission.

I am having hard luck with that too....

i hate to hear that man, that is how we got the name "stealership" which i do not like! every dealer is different and you guys are finding this out and some already know this. our dealership does not care what you have, we like the money and we will not turn you away. we had a truck come in a few years ago smoking bad at idle, it fell under the 7 year 200k injector policy. it had a gt42 and dual fuelers, we called and our rep said fix it!

Culling of the Herd

The Bankruptcy of GM should have made some of the Stealerships die off. We need a "Culling of the Herd". The aftermarket seems to do a good job for the most part. Why do I hear Stealership horror stories everywhere I go (& I travel A LOT).

Because no one like to talk about the times that have had good/ok service. I've never personal had a problem at a dealer that wasn't made right with in reason. On the other hand I have had more then my share of issues with other shops.
